Line editing includes a line-by-line review of the manuscript for the following:

• Typographical errors
• Misspelled words
• Grammatical errors
• Punctuation
• Incorrect usage (e.g., effect/affect)
• Consistency/Standardization
• Sentence clarity
• Redundancies and/or inaccuracies in text
• Maintenance of tone/voice

Inaccuracies may include incorrect spelling of song or book titles, proper names, dates, or well-known facts (extensive fact-checking is not supplied).

Maintenance of tone/voice/word choice may include a review for consistency of style and mood or presentation of content, consistency of point of view and tense, or the correct usage of words.

Line editing may also include author queries. We recommend line editing services for authors whose work may contain moderate problems with sentence structure or occasional inconsistencies in point-of-view or tense, in addition to basic errors. If you feel that your manuscript contains a number of awkward sentences, or if you feel you may have difficulty with dialogue, narration, and/or overall sentence structure, you may need our developmental editing services.

Rates

The standard rate for our line editing services is $.012 per word

Example: 50,000 words x $.012 = $600.00
