Typesetting/Layout
Typesetting/layout services involve preparing your manuscript in standard print format by setting margins, creating headers, establishing proper spacing, adding page numbering, and including table of contents and index, if necessary. Our typesetting/layout services are offered on a per page basis, and our standard rate is $0.50/per page.
Editing
Our editing services are offered on three separate levels. See below for a detailed breakdown of each:
- Copy Editing: Copy editing services involve correcting basic errors of usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Our copy editing services are offered on a per word basis, and our standard rate is $0.005/word.
- Line Editing: Line editing services involve addressing such issues as the clarity, tone, and consistency of the manuscript, ensuring that the writing is clear and that the material flows properly and
naturally. Also, additions or deletions to the content are made where
necessary in order to achieve the aforementioned purposes. Our line editing services are offered on a per word basis, and our standard rate is $0.006/word.
- Developmental Editing: Developmental editing services involve rewording the manuscript text for clarity, tense, and active voice, addressing the
story line, character development, word usage, and other
factors in order to help the manuscript flow and flesh out characters & dialogue. In addition, formatting may be altered in order to
bring out key points by adding new headings, bulleted lists, sidebars,
or simple paragraph breaks. Our developmental editing services are offered on a per word basis, and our standard rate is $0.007/word.
Adaptation
For adaptation services,
we charge on a per hour basis, and our standard rate is $50/hour. Once we know the specific
page count of your book, we'll be able to give you a specific estimate
regarding the final cost.

Average Novel Length: 240 pages
Estimated Screenplay Adaptation Completion
Time:
- To read book - 4 hours
- To complete screenplay - 24 hours (120 pages*/5 pages per hour)
(* Average screenplay length = 120 pages)
Total Completion Time: 4 hours (to read book) + 24 hours (to complete screenplay) = 28 hours
Estimated Adaptation Fee: 28 hours x $50/hour = $1,400
Minor
edits/rewrites will be completed at no extra charge.
Ghostwriting
For ghostwriting services,
we charge on a per page basis. Our standard rate is $14/page, and the standard industry length
for a page is 250 words, so we reach the final cost of your manuscript
by dividing the final word count by 250.
For example:
Total Word Count Of Final Manuscript: 75,000 words
Total Page Count Of Final Manuscript: 75,000 words/250 words per page = 300
pages
Total Cost Of Manuscript Preparation: 300 pages x $14/page = $4,200
Regarding rights for your work, we seek no
joint ownership or legal claim of our creations; the copyrights remain
in your name once we're finished with them, and we waive all rights to
royalties and any other residual payments you receive from the sale of
your work. We only seek to be compensated for the time and energy
required to compose the manuscripts, which is why we collect all our
fees upfront.
PAYMENT
Payment for all our services is typically handled as follows:
50% due upon initiation of project, 25%
due halfway through, 25% due upon completion of project. We can, though, make different payment arrangements, depending on what works
best for your budget.
